Illustrator guides not showing.

Oct 2, 2018 · I accidentally pressed the print tiling tool whilst exploring Illustrator, which I have managed to hide, but now the default pink margin lines have disappeared. I've tried the Show/Hide Guides options and opened new documents, but the pink margins have gone. I have searched the internet and forums for answers, but have been unsuccessful so far. My smart guides do (did) not work neither: I think that Illustrator lied, when telling me that smart guides where enabled (they where in the View->Smart Guides menu, check mark showing up). What I did was to disable Smart Guides with CTRL-U (and that really did enable the guides, check mark still showing up). Check your layers using F7 and see if any of these guides are placed on locked layer. If guide options show unlocked, you're probably looking at another layer.
